Across the sea to Arran : Hipstamatic iPhone Photo

Posted via email from Digital Learning Foundation

The Hipstamatic iPhone application offers a range of lens, "film" and "flash" effects. Each variation has it's own discolouration, scratches and blurs... Not for every shot, but some really great analog effects can be achieved. Check out the Hipstamatic community pages.

 Now Where Are Those Penguins?

LHC Beauty Experiment
LHCb doesn't seem to get the same amount of press coverage as ATLAS or CMS,
which is strange, because it is looking for Penguins... and there has to be a story in
that!  Of course, it isn't real Penguins, but particle interactions that create so called
"Penguin Loops", quantum loopholes that allow ephemeral virtual particles to be
created for an extremely short time.

The DLF are currently completing their new school show LHC 3D - It's all down to Gravity!
in conjunction with Durham University Physics Outreach.

Camera Plus Pro and Hipstamatic photos 2 : iPhone apps

Beginning to like the Hipstamatic, but there are so many different combinations of lens, film and flash possible, that it will take some time for the end result to be more than a happy accident. These were taken with the Lucifer VI lens. Colour are with the kodak film and B&W with the Black. Again the lack of anti-shake is obvious, it was very cold and windy :-)

Following photos are with Camera Plus Pro. This is becoming my favourite iPhone camera app, the end results seem to have better colour balance than Camera Genius and it has more useful features than most of the others I am trying. However, the interface can be a little confusing and there have been a couple of occasions when the easiest way to get back to take a photo was to quit and restart.

So, where is Batman when you need him?

iPhone Photos : Hipstamatic & Camera Genius

Camera Genius is very similar to Camera Plus Pro. Does have a nicer auto location label.
Below, the same scene is taken with Hipstamatic.

Below more Camera Genius photos.
